Chief Minister's Model School

 In the year 2010, Government of Sikkim launched the  Chief Minister’s Merit Scholarship Scheme to provide free education to talented and meritorious children of Sikkim at reputed schools within and outside Sikkim.

From the year 2025 this scheme will provide free education to the meritorious children of Sikkim at the Chief Minister’s Model School at Assam lingzey.

Step 1: Eligibility Criteria

• Grade-Level Admission –Grade VI
• Residency –Domicile of Sikkim
• Other criteria– Should have studied in Government School ( Government of Sikkim) from Class I-V and have stood 1st in Class V Annual Examination (the student will be then nominated by the Head of the School for a State level Selection Test conducted by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim. In case the candidate who stood first doesn’t meet the criteria for qualifying the aforesaid scholarship, the next student after him/her shall be eligible.)

Step 2: Application Process

Registration

The student will be nominated by the Head of the School and registered for a State level selection test conducted by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim.

Step 3: Selection Process

Entrance Test– The nominated students will have to appear for a State level selection test and qualify for Chief Ministers Merit scholarship.
Interview/Counseling – Parents and students may be called for an interaction session with the admission committee.

Step 4: Admission Confirmation & Fee Payment

• Selected students will receive an admission confirmation from the department.
• The student’s admission will be confirmed once all formalities are completed.

Step 5: Orientation & Class Commencement

• A welcome orientation session will be held for new students and parents.
• Classes will begin as per the academic calendar.
